Jungle updates

This week saw the beginning of evictions from the Australian jungle and so far; Robert, Dani, Carly, Timmy and now Esther have all been given the boot. The last two made me extremely happy as I found Timmy to be the most annoying person in the world. I’m sorry but nobody is that enthusiastic! It got to the point where at times, he was fake. Only one week left of the show now, and for the first time, I have no idea who is going to win it. I know last week I said that I wanted Joe to win it but his personality has completely changed this week. He just keeps getting angrier and though I hate to say it, he is not actually my favourite anymore. The arguments between Nicola and David are affecting the rest of the camp and rows have been breaking out daily, usually resulting in someone being reduced to tears. The highlight of the week was definitely Timmy losing to Brian in the Last Chance Saloon and then seeing the rest of the camp’s reaction when it was Brian that walked back to camp. Hilarious!

Hasta la vista!

Saturday evening saw the X Factor say goodbye to our Spanish senorita. Ruth is out and so is last year’s winning mentor Danni Minogue so she is also vulnerable to being given the brush off next series. Ruth performed Britney’s ‘I love Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and even though she received positive comments from the judges, I don’t think it showed her full potential. Her second performance was Bon Jovi’s Always and she definitely made it her own. She was incredible! Though obviously disappointed to be leaving, she maintained her well known fighting spirit by stating ‘This is the beginning of my dream’. I’m sure Simon is absolutely gutted she has gone!

Though I’m usually a huge fan of Diana, I have to say she wasn’t all that great this week and a lot of people were quite worried for her survival this week. She sang Britney’s ‘Not a girl, Not yet a woman’ and did not sound like her usual unique self until the end of the song which could have been too late. Her second song was a lot better however, she sang ‘Everybody hurts’ and we saw a glimpse of the old Diana. The first performances this week were definitely the lesser of the two. Alexandra stole the show again, however, with two brilliant performances; one of Britney’s Toxic and her second performance of ‘Listen’ had half the judges in tears and no doubt left the audience completely astounded.

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus also made an appearance on the results show, performing her single ‘7 things’ which is a great track that really suits her voice. She’s so successful already and she is only 16 so there is no telling what her future is going to pan out like; but I would not be surprised at all if she has a glittering career ahead of her.

Britney is back!

Boy, does that girl know how to make a comeback! Saturday night saw Britney Spears make her comeback on the X Factor result show and what a show it was! She performed Womanizer, and yes she was miming but I don’t see that as a reason to criticise her; it’s not like she’s the first artist ever to mime. Seriously though, her performance was brilliant; she was throwing men all over the stage and Louis couldn’t take his eyes off her! Though of course, that could have had something to do with her slightly revealing outfit! She looked amazing, the performance was amazing, well done Britney, and we hope there is a lot more to come!

Christmas is coming!

Now we are into December, everybody has an excuse to break out the old Christmas songs and the charts have taken advantage of that. Already, we have seen Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ back in the charts at number 37 and is sure to be the first of many Crimbo classics that will work their way back into the top 40. Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ has also been assured to be the most played Christmas song in the last five years; no surprises there!
